The Facilities Committee is charged by the Board of Selectmen with presenting its recommendations for Town facilities repairs for the annual budget of the Town each year.
Since 2005, the Committee has recommended many improvements to Town buildings, and has participated in the planning for town athletic fields, restoration of the community hall, the painting of the Town Hall inside and out, Town Garage and Community Hall. An expendable trust fund was established for maintenance of Town buildings, and each year money has been voted at Town Meeting to be placed in this fund. As projects are approved at Town Meeting, the Selectmen use these funds and any funds left over remain in the trust fund.
Anyone interested in serving on this Committee should contact the Selectmen’s Office for a volunteer application.
The Facilities Committee meets once a month on the first Wednesday of the month. Meeting dates and times are posted on the web site Events Calendar, and at the Library and the Town Hall. The public is welcome.
